The Fight for Jerusalem is On!

However, should that be of any surprise?  The Hebrew Prophet Zechariah over 2,500 years ago told the world through the written Word for hundreds of years, that this was coming: 

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it”  Zechariah 12:2-3 …is this not what Israel is right on the edge of now, at this very time in history?

Psalms 2:1-5 asks the question, states the issue and sums up the coming action:

“Why do the nations conspire, and the peoples plot in vain?

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together,

against the LORD and his anointed, saying,

"Let us burst their bonds asunder, and cast their cords from us."

…The God of Israel’s response…”He who sits in the heavens laughs; the LORD has them in derision.

Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury”

So, do the Jews Have a Right of Possession?

What does the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob have to say about the Land of Israel and its Capital Jerusalem? …and keep in mind Abraham's son Ishmael is the father of the current Arab Nation raging against Israel.

Regarding the issue of the Land, the Bible [“God’s Word”] says in Genesis 15 that the Land currently in question, is the promise from God to Abraham. The book of Deuteronomy states twenty-five times that the Land is a gift to the people of Israel from the Lord (Deuteronomy 1:20, 25; 2:29; 3:20; 4:40; 5:16)…THIS IN AND OF ITSELF ESTABLISHES THE JEWS RIGHT OF POSSESSION!...FOREVER!

Ezekiel 11:14-17 states: “Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Son of man, your brethren, your relatives, your countrymen, and all the house of Israel in its entirety, are those about whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, ‘Get far away from the Lord; THIS LAND HAS BEEN GIVEN TO US AS A POSSESSION.  Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Although I have cast them far off among the Gentiles, and although I have scattered them among the countries [the Jewish Disporia began with the 6th century B.C. conquest of the ancient Kingdom of Judah by Babylon], yet I shall be a little sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.”’ Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “I will gather you from the peoples, assemble you from the countries where you have been scattered, and I WILL GIVE YOU THE LAND OF ISRAEL.” …WELL, CAN IT BE ANY CLEARER?   The re-gathering was also prophesied by the Prophet Ezekiel over 2,500 year ago in Ezekiel 37 it refers to the dry bones taking on flesh and living again “I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it,” says the Lord” Ezekiel 37:14.

On November 2, 1917 the Balfour Declaration was issued expressing British support for a Jewish "national home" in Palestine.  It was the culmination of a long tradition in Britain that supported restoration of the Jews to their own land for philosophical, religious and imperialistic motives.  The Zionist movement had thus been founded to create a national home for the Jews, secured by international law…When the Balfour Declaration was drafted there was no Palestinian nation!

So Whose Jerusalem is it?

>  Religious Jews throughout the world recite their prayers 3 times a day while facing toward Jerusalem.

The parallel between Mecca and Jerusalem offers the basis of a solution, as Sheikh Palazzi wisely wrote:

“separation in directions of prayer is a mean to decrease possible rivalries in management of Holy Places. To back up this view, Palazzi sites several always neglected passages in the Qur'an:  1)  Qur'an 5:22-23 quotes Moses instructing the Jews to "enter the Holy Land (al-ard al-muqaddisa) which God has assigned unto you;" 2) Qur'an 17:104 has God Himself making the same point: "We said to the Children of Israel: 'Dwell securely in the Land;'" 3) Qur'an 2:145 states that the Jews "would not follow your qibla; nor are you going to follow their qibla," indicating a recognition of the Temple Mount as the Jews' direction of prayer. "God himself is saying that Jerusalem is as important to Jews as Mecca is to Moslems," Palazzi concludes.

In Jeremiah 31:3, God (not Allah) tells Jeremiah that He loves Israel with an everlasting love!

“ISIS and Hamas are branches of the same poisonous tree,” Netanyahu said. “When it comes to their ultimate goals, Hamas is ISIS and ISIS is Hamas.” There is very little difference between them, he emphasized. Psalm 83 states that the immediate neighbors surrounding Israel, will launch a war for the purpose of "wiping out Israel as a nation" (verse 4). The nations described are those with a common border with Israel today (verses 6-8), and we can now see that this will be headed by ISIS in each of those States.  Does Israel win? The rest of the psalm is a prayer for the victory of Israel (verses 9-18) and we know from Zechariah 12:6 that Israel will be like "a firepot among pieces of wood and a flaming torch among sheaves, so they will consume on the right hand and on the left all the surrounding peoples..."

Interesting Note:  ISIS was an ancient Egyptian goddess (protector of the dead) and the mother of Horus.  Horus is one of the oldest and most significant deities in ancient Egyptian religion.  "Horus, son of Isis" and also known as the “Eye of Horus” is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection and royal power from deities, in this case from Horus or Ra. The symbol is seen on the top of the pyramid on the U.S. dollar bill - the all seeing eye.  Horus was also said to be a god of war - he became a symbol of majesty and power as well as the model of the pharaohs.  In later Egyptian dynastic times, Ra was merged with the god Horus (Ra and Horus were one and the same).  He was believed to rule in all parts of the created world: [the goal of the Islamic State and of the antichrist] the sky , the earth, and the underworld...how fitting, ISIS (Islamic State) seems to be the end-time embodiment of Horus son of Isis - this is no coincidence and likely all fitting the plan of the Antichrist in end-time prophetic events.

It would appear, at this time, Pope Francis is quickly fulfilling many of the signs of the False Prophet of the book of Revelation. Prophetically, he has accomplished more in the last two years than the last 20 popes combined. Unlike all popes before him, he is absolutely the enemy of the state of Israel. As shocking as all the news is reported above, it is only a warm-up for what will occur after the Rapture of the Church, and during the 7-Year tribulation period where the False Prophet and the Antichrist have the unrestrained freedom to rule and overwhelm this world! Another ancient Bible prophecy seems to be nearing its fulfillment! The subject nation of this vastly overlooked prediction is Jordan. Approximately 2600 years ago, the Hebrew prophet Jeremiah foretold of a tormenting fear that would someday engulf this Arab state.

The prophecy informs that Jordan will tremble as troubling events close in on all sides of its borders. Jeremiah 49:5 says “Behold, I am going to bring terror upon you,” Says the Lord GOD of hosts, “From all your neighbors…” (i) In other words, terrorizing geo-political events surrounding Jordan will destabilize the nation. This type of terror has never overtaken this territory until now!

According to Jeremiah 49:1-5; the instability that occurs within the country burgeons into an epic biblical war against Israel, which results in Jordan’s destruction and the expansion of the Jewish state.

Therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “That I will cause to be heard an alarm of war In Rabbah (Amman, Jordan) of the Ammonites; It shall be a desolate mound, And her villages shall be burned with fire. Then Israel shall take possession of his (land) inheritance,” says the LORD. (Jer. 49:2-3, NKJV)

TODAY JORDAN FACES TROUBLE ON EVERY FRONT

Presently, Jordan faces trouble on every front. ISIS has its sights on Jordan and is pressing in from the north and northeast from strongholds in Syria and Iraq. ISIS has sympathizers inside of Jordan, like they do in Iraq and Syria. The Iraqi and Syrian partisans played a significant role in the expansion of ISIS into those countries. The ISIS supporters in Jordan, like their Iraqi and Syrian counterparts, embrace the same goal of an Islamic State in the Levant (ISIL), which is another acronym that ISIS goes by.

Jordan sits in the heart of the Levant. The concern is that ISIL will lockstep with their Jordanian adherents and capture Jordan.

Additionally, exiles continue to flood into Jordan from the turmoil in Iraq and Syria by the tens of thousands. There are approximately 710,000 refugees presently encamped in Jordan. This is comparable to about 11% of Jordan’s overall population. In addition to creating economic and political volatility, many of these fugitives are prime candidates for ISIS recruitment.

On the eastern front Jordan is unnerved by Iran’s attempt to spread its hegemony in its direction through significant troop deployments into the embattled areas of Iraq and Syria. Moreover, Iran’s funding of terrorist organizations like Hezbollah, (to the north) Hamas, (to the east) and the Houthis, (to the south) further aggravates Jordan’s situation.

Of equal or greater concern is Iran’s burgeoning nuclear program and unhindered development of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM). These ICBM’s, which are designed to carry weapons of mass destruction, could someday land in Jordan, or fly over its airspace on route to Israel or America. Iran believes Israel is the “Little Satan” and America the “Great Satan.”

Hezbollah’s growing presence to Jordan’s northwest in the Golan Heights intensifies the already existent tension between Israel and Syria. On Jordan’s western front, Israel is bracing for another possible war with Hezbollah, which could eventuate in over 1500 missiles being launched into Israel daily. In anticipation, Israel is fitting many of its bomb shelters with high speed wireless Internet capabilities. Israelis refuged underground, for perhaps weeks at a time, will need to know what’s happening to their country.

Once serving as a buffer state between Israel and the broader Muslim dominated Middle East, Jordan is on the verge of becoming more of a liability than an asset to the survival of the Jewish state. This is partially because the Jordanian Armed Forces are no military match for all the firepower mobilizing around it. These forces are mainly put in place to preserve the posterity of the ruling Hashemite kingdom. In the likely event of an ISIS external aggression against Jordan, and / or subversion from within Jordan, Israel could be drawn into the conflict. Israel has hinted that it would, if Jordan requests, ally with Jordan against ISIS.

Terrorism in the Sinai to Jordan’s south complicates matters further because much needed gas resources from there are under constant threat. The Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis Sinai based terrorist group, who has pledged allegiance to ISIS, has bombed gas pipelines into Jordan in the recent past. Terrorist groups like this that align with ISIS are another growing concern for Jordan. Like Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization based in Syria has also joined with ISIS.

These are just a few of the geo-political concerns that prompted Jordan’s King Abdullah II to come to Washington in February and December of 2014 and again in February, 2015. This trio of recent visits evidences Jordan’s urgent concerns about what’s going on in their neighborhood.

These visitations were primarily intended to enlist America’s strategic support against the spread of ISIS in the region, and to move the Palestinian – Israeli peace talks forward. There are an estimated 3.24 million Palestinians living in Jordan, nearly one-half of the country’s overall population, many of which are discontent with the current Jordanian leadership. From King Abdullah’s perspective, peace between the Palestinians and Israelis could provide some respite to the internal political strife occurring inside of Jordan. These Palestinians want a state of their own or at least more civil liberties within Jordan.

With all the geo-political mayhem around him, King Abdullah II is justifiably concerned about his and his country’s future. Since the Arab Spring in 2011, he has seen the removal of longstanding leaders and allies in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Yemen and recently in Saudi Arabia, with the death of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. With the passing of these old guards the Jordanian king finds himself much more reliant on the strange bedfellows of America and Israel for his posterity.

WHY JORDAN and WHY NOW?

Presuming all the above is what drives the fear spoken of in Jeremiah’s ancient prediction, the questions are why Jordan; and why now? After all, Jordan maintains a peace treaty with Israel, and is generally pro-western and is regarded by many as the most moderate Arab state in the Middle East.

The answers to these questions are found in Jeremiah’s entire prophecy, along with parallel prophecies in Psalm 83, Zephaniah 2, Amos 1, Isaiah 11 and elsewhere. The element of fear overtaking Jordan is only a small part of the country’s foretold future.

Jeremiah 49:1-2, Zephaniah 2:8-9 and Amos 1:13 point out that Jordan is guilty of enlarging its borders at Israel’s expense. Jordan is located within the borders of the “Promised Land” given to the Israelites through Abraham (Genesis 15:18), Isaac (Gen. 26:4) and Jacob (Gen. 28:13). This land spans from the Nile River in Egypt to the Euphrates in Iraq and Syria.

From the biblical perspective, Jordan is trespassing on prime property that Israel needs to secure and enlarge its borders. The Lord’s prophetic plan, which is ongoing presently, was to regather the Jews from the nations of the world into the re-established nation of Israel as the Jewish state. Throughout most of Jordan’s modern history it has been an obstacle to this sovereign strategy. Even today, Jordan, like the additional 21 members in the Arab League, refuses to recognize Israel’s right to exist as the Jewish state.

In the prophetic scheme of things, Jordan’s peace treaty with Israel is geo-politically expedient and paper thin. After soundly losing three conventional wars in 1948, 1967 and 1973 against Israel, Jordan’s former King Hussein found it lucrative economically, geographically, militarily and politically to befriend Israel. This was not, and is still not, considered to be a popular move by the majority of the Muslim world, which is mostly pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel.

Psalm 83 presents the most problematic prophecy concerning Jordan’s future. It identifies Jordan as the “children of Lot,” who were Ammon and Moab. Ammon and Moab team up in a ten member Arab confederacy that wants to wipe Israel off of the map and ultimately take possession of the Promised Land.

Psalm 83:8 predicts that Jordan will be supported by Assyria, which could be alluding to ISIS. There is a potential connection with ISIS in this prophecy. The stage is set in the Middle East Theater for several ancient Bible prophecies to find their literal fulfillment. Jeremiah’s prophecy concerning Jordan is only one of them.

The Sun, Moon and Stars were placed in the heavenlies so we would know and understand God’s appointed times.

There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.  Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”  Psalm 19:1–4

On June 30th and July 1st the planets Jupiter and Venus will be so close together that it will appear as if they are one great star, according to 'Sky & Telescope' magazine.  One hour after sunset on June 30th the two planets will be only 1/3rd of a degree apart.

The two planets have been getting closer together over the past two weeks as Venus closes in on Jupiter on June 30th.  This will not only be a brilliant sight in the western night sky, just after sunset, but it also has Christological significance.  The reason so is because it will resemble the celestial event that happened just before the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem.  This could be a "sign" as we look toward Rosh HaShanah or Feast of Trumpets.  Dr. Ernest Martin, author of the book, 'The Star of Bethlehem - The Star That Astonished The World", in which Dr. Martin states that Jesus was born on the Feast of Trumpets in 3 BC - September 11, 3 BC.

This very rare 2015 conjunction offers us an opportunity to witness an almost identical view that the Magi observed and followed.  They were watching the paths of Venus and Jupiter very closely since the prophet Daniel had prophesied the date of the coming of the Messiah.  They joined together in the Constellation of Leo in what is believed to be the Star of Bethlehem.  According to Christian astronomers Venus represents the Bride of Christ; and Jupiter, also known as the King Star, represents Messiah, the Bridegroom.  Their symbolic union represents the Messiah in His reign on Earth, as Leo indicates.  The Magi anticipated His coming as the Redeemer and King.  Now, we look forward to or anticipate His coming as King and Bridegroom.  In short, this conjunction tells all who have eyes to see that the promise of reigning with Him as His Bride will be given to those who chase the Lord and catch Him.

There may well be prophetic implications for this conjunction, as this sign will take place on the night of June 30th and early in the morning of July 1st.  July 1st (7/1) has always been a date for us to be watching, because it is a sign of the coming Feast of Trumpets, or Rosh HaShanah (1).  Keep in mind that Jesus was born on the Feast of Trumpets, September 11th, 3 BC., and that the Feast of Trumpets is also the prophesied day (the so called "unknown day" of Matthew 25:13) for the resurrection of the dead.  It appears that this conjunction could be a sign of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture or Resurrection (new birth).  Does God do anything by chance? God "worketh all things after the counsel of his own will" (Ephesians 1:11), so is it not prophetic that this “sign” (as described herein) falls exactly on 7/1, the reminder date of the Feast of Trumpets!

Some websites (http://newsok.com/star-of-bethlehem-jupiter-and-venus-converge-for-the-first-time-in-2000-years/article/5430414) are reporting that there has not been a brighter, closer planetary conjunction of Jupiter and Venus for over 2,000 years – since the Star of Bethlehem!!

When we think of how closely this conjunction resembles the one that the magi witnessed and then we combine that with the prophetic implications of other current celestial events occurring in 2015 (see http://watchmansview.com/Signs_%26_Wonders_of_GOD.html), we can’t help but lift up our eyes and see that our redemption is drawing nigh!
